KSS Philosophy

Working together

Strong and accurate financial systems and processes are just part of the equation. We believe that all the segments of an organization must function effectively. We understand how to evaluate both the parts and the whole, and collaborate with other providers to build organizational strength.

Numbers tell a story

The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Our ability to evaluate both the parts and the whole provide insight and guidance to move the organization forward. By indentifying the barriers to success organization wide, KSS will design remedial solutions with clearly outlined steps, goals, timeframes and outcomes. From executive coaching to systems analysis, from financial review to staffing structure, the KSS Strategy addresses organizational strength.

Use a Map

Developing a successful strategy involves careful consideration of future goals, available resources, the surrounding environment, as well as a healthy dose of candid introspection. Planning is the specific execution of the strategy; it includes developing outcomes, timelines, budgets, and roles and responsiblities. The KSS model defines strategy and planning separately while linking them inextricably to each other. The comprehensive KSS team can focus on financial strategizing, campaign planning, board succession planning, and strategic planning.

Listen, Look, & Learn

Measurement is defined as data-driven results that demonstrate effectiveness. Good measurement has numerous components; knowing what to measure, when to measure it, how to understand the story that the results do, and do not, tell, and finally, where to go next with the outcomes. Communicating those results to the appropriate audience in a clear and thorough manner is also part of measurement. Whether applying measurement in grant reporting or using it for program planning, KSS helps organizations focus on future growth in the most strategic and informed approaches.

Why we do this work

Rarely do plans go exactly as prescribed. Performance can be altered by a variety of factors, ranging from incorrect assumptions to changes in the external environment. It is critical for organizations to understand the meaning of variations, and how to successfully and quickly manage change to keep performance goals on track. KSS teaches organizations how to understand performance results, and make and adapt to change.
